Accessibility Statement
Berlin Last Mile GmbH is committed to ensuring that its digital services are accessible to people with disabilities.
Berlin Last Mile GmbH has invested significant resources to ensure access for all users, including people with disabilities, in the firm belief that everyone has the right to live with dignity, equality, comfort, and independence.
Digital accessibility is not just a goal we strive to achieve, but an ongoing commitment we carry into every aspect of our digital service delivery. We recognize that this requires continuous monitoring, improvement, and adaptation.
In the following sections, we explain the various efforts we have made to achieve our progress in ensuring digital accessibility for all.
A key element of our accessibility initiative is our collaboration with the independent accessibility consultancy UserWay to make the website compliant. We do this using industry-standard accessibility methods and tools according to the current version of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), the web’s principal international standards organization.
As part of our ongoing commitment to improving and addressing accessibility issues, we employ developers who are experts in digital accessibility.
Our approach to accessibility includes both manual accessibility checks and automated scanning.
berlinlastmile.de provides the UserWay Website Accessibility Widget, which is powered by a dedicated accessibility server.
The widget offers user-controlled enhancements that visitors can use to improve the website’s accessibility. When selected, these features increase font size, pause animations, change color contrast, and more. Users can choose combinations that meet their needs, according to WCAG Level AAA.
The website uses automated remediation technology (ART) for all visitors, regardless of whether they use assistive technology. ART does not detect the use of assistive technologies, but rather improves accessibility for all site visitors regardless of their abilities through the use of remediation features such as (not an exhaustive list):
- Images and other non-text elements are assigned alternative text where necessary;
- Keyboard navigation is enhanced through aids such as focus indicators and jump links;
